Obviously the fastener head does not mate quite right with the fitting counterbore.
The point is that my boat had fasteners with counterbore angles greater than 100 degrees and sometimes 120] Using 82-degree countersink fasteners (US) in 102-degree counterbored fittings (European) doesn't give the best result.
